When you first meet Josh you’ll noticed his natural ability to wear men’s jewelry. Like most rock stars they tend to effortlessly pull of this look. Josh’s style is no exception.
MAN: Many of us guys feel that “accessorizing” can be tough and we tend to over think it. You pull it off effortlessly. What’s your secret?
JOSH: That’s a huge compliment, thank you! I agree that when it comes to accessorizing the tendency is to over think it. The secret is really simple; if you feel good about it, own it! When I get dressed and go to put on accessories, I base my decisions on what I am feeling. Anything you put on should contribute to the collective feel of the outfit and ultimately the look you envisioned at that moment. One other tip I follow for bracelets, always group them in odd numbers.
MAN: So, is the Josh Taerk jewelry line actually a thing?
JOSH: It is! I feel like what you wear and how you dress is a reflection of the person you feel you are deep down. I was looking for a specific kind of necklace, but didn’t find anything. I started making my own collection that offers bracelets, necklaces, and rings.
MAN: What was one of your favorite brands to see at our event?
JOSH: I thought the jewelry that Snake Bones created was phenomenal. Their accessories had the perfect combination of simple, stylish yet edgy and timelessness that I love, not to mention the attention to detail that goes into every piece they make. It absolutely blew my mind.
MAN: Rumor has it that you’re playing at our friend’s store, the Jean Shop. Can you tell us a bit more about that?
JOSH: A couple of years ago I got to meet Max Weinberg, drummer for Bruce Springsteen and The E-Street Band. I gave him a CD, he liked what he heard. He’s been an incredible mentor and friend ever since. Through Max and his manager I met Eric from the Jean Shop. Eric was looking for live music for the Mr. Porter event and Max’s Manager said “I’ve got the perfect guy for you!” Mr. Porter is hosting a Block Party in Soho and I’ll be performing in The Jean shop alongside 1800 Tequila. I’m really excited to be a part of it!
On that note of tequila, we wanted to know a more about Josh’s favorite drink. Turns out Josh is a beer guy. He enjoys microbrews and likes to try unique beers depending on where he travels. He’s been recently getting into bourbon during his time down in Tennessee. We wonder if he would be a fan of the Summer Shandy cocktail from our Pitcher Perfect end of summer drink series. After all, he’s seems to be adventurous.
In our final few moments with Josh, we had to get the scoop on what he was working on.
MAN: What are you currently working on?
JOSH: I’ve got a few new songs that we’re planning on releasing sometime soon. On top of that, I am always writing new songs and in the process of coming up with new ideas, melodies and lyrics.
MAN: We like giving our readers an edge what other exclusive scoop can you share about upcoming projects and what else readers can look forward to?
JOSH: I’ve got something awesome in the works for “Take A Chance With Me” coming out really soon! All I can say is stay tuned on my social media pages, type in Josh Taerk into google and you’ll find them.
Sadly, we had to part ways with Josh at our jam-packed event. One thing we left away feeling is that we just left the presence of a modern-day Rolling Stone. There was something effortlessly cool about Josh. Perhaps it was the luscious locks? Maybe the rock star jewelry?
