TOP 15 SONGS TO DRINK WHISKEY TO

The RIGHT WAY TO SIP WHISKEY: HERE’S THE TOP 15 SONGS TO DRINK WHISKEY TO.

Whiskey and music go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Trouble is, there’s so much out there to sift through that it can be a bit daunting to figure out what’s the best song to listen to.

Although there’s no wrong way to drink whiskey, we thought we might encourage our readers to take the edge off a long hard day, the country way.

That’s why today, we’ve put together our top 15 songs to drink whiskey to. This is a playlist for you to enjoy while you’re sipping your whiskey like the inner cowboy we all are (or maybe aren’t).

Check it out below, but be warned – this might bring out an accent you never knew you had.

1. RYAN HURD – “PLATONIC”

Ryan Hurd is stepping out on his own with his latest EP and the title track is his brand of laid back style.

Throw on some tie-dye and a beanie to enjoy your whiskey the Hurd way.

May the alcohol give you the courage to reach out to that friend you’ve always wondered about………………………..on second thought, put the phone down.

2. FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE – “BLESSINGS”

We’re going to hit you early with this one because truly what is country music without it’s faith-based elements?

FGL his us right in the feels with all we have to be thankful for.

When you are feeling that slight buzz it’s not too hard to shed a little tear listening to this one which can only mean we should keep drinking.

3. CARLY PEARCE – “I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY NOW”

Her latest single featuring Lee Brice is another hit from the lastest leading lady of country.

It’s not your typical breakup song, for it leaves us feeling hopeful rather than sad… though we are still drowning our sorrows with whiskey on the rocks.

4. JOSH TAERK – “BEAUTIFUL TRAGEDY”

We love Josh Taerk here at MAN’edged and this song is a great reason why.

He’s got a great blend of country and early 2000s pop with quick lyrics and catchy melodies.

It’s a really fun lyric video to watch too whether you are drinking or not.

5. JAKE OWEN – “HOMEMADE”

This down-home country song is great for reminiscing on the simpler things in life.

We may not have grown up exactly like Jake but this song triggers a long lost time in all of us. We can all raise a glass to that!

6. RUSSELL DICKERSON – “EVERY LITTLE THING”

Russell is soon to be a house-hold name at the rate he is going.

This song just became his third no.1 single in a row and it has us dancing around like a fool, however that could also be because of the whiskey.

This upbeat love song is sure to put a smile on your face.

7. HALEY & MICHAELS – “HAIL MARY”

This song comes with an exciting story – what you are hearing is the official theme song for the San Francisco 49ers 2019-2020 season, proving that everyone loves some country music.

This video was filmed in the 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium and the duo even took to the field during a halftime performance to play the song for the thousands of fans in attendance. Talk about winning.

8. CARRIE UNDERWOOD – “DRINKING ALONE”

The fierce female of country music is throwing her vocals into what could easily be your new drinking anthem for what’s better than drinking alone than drinking with a buddy?

9. GONE WEST – “WHAT COULD’VE BEEN”

This is the part of the playlist where you will be pouring a double.

Though this special group is comprised of two happy couples, including the familiar face and voice of Colbie Caillat, they still know how to pull at the heartstrings for an emotion-filled tune.

That pit you are feeling in your stomach is the combination of sorrow and whiskey and that kids, is the essence of country music.

10. STEVE MOAKLER – “PUSH”

Throw on the denim. Americana/country singer-song is not afraid to push through the tough parts of a relationship.

We dig his easy-listening vibes and heartfelt lyrics.

The twang in his voice has us feeling our inner country-selves more than ever.

11. MAREN MORRIS – “THE BONES”

Maren Morris has quickly become one of the genres crossover hits with songs like “The Middle” and this one.

But truly, she’s country to the bone. This song proves that not all country is country.

We would jam out to this one regardless of the drink in our hands.

12. LUKE COMBS – “EVEN THOUGH I’M LEAVING”

This is the quintessential story-based song for those of you taking your first swing at country music. Don’t worry – we’re all learning together.

Luke’s newly minted CMA Award-winning vocals shine on this emotional track about a father and son.

The whiskey is starting to taste watered down from all the tears.

13. LEVI HUMMON FT. RUNAWAY JUNE – “COWBOY TAKE ME AWAY”

Even if you’ve never gone a day listening to country music, chances are you’ve heard this one from the dynamic trio the Dixie Chicks.

We now, the songwriter’s son is taking a stab at it with another female group Runaway June.

Levi Hummon’s vocals are motivating us to get off the couch and go be the cowboy in some lucky lady’s story… although pouring another glass sounds better.

14. OLD DOMINION – “ONE MAN BAND”

We love this group for their thoughtful lyrics and empowering messages.

This one leaves us wishing we were drinking with that someone special, but alas, we are just a one-man band playing air guitar and tapping out the beat on our knees as we keep on sippin’.

15. CANDI CARPENTER – “THE ASTRONAUT”

This out of this world tune has us deep in thought and isn’t that the beauty of country music?

Candi’s lyrics are transporting up to a deep place of reflection and before we know it we are at the bottom of our glass.

This song, produced by another killer artist Brandi Carlile, is the best way to end our playlist. Not too sad, not too happy – just right.

It leaves us questioning if we should go ahead and listen to all these great country songs again and again.

Cheers to sipping your whiskey with our top 15 songs to drink whiskey to.
