You’re new go-to snack: nachos
Sure, the quick late night microwave chips with shredded cheese a la Will Ferrel in Step Brothers hits the spot, but it’s time to step-up your nacho game.
Today, we’re showing you how and yes there’s a microwave involved.
First, start by grabbing a big plate and get ready to layer.
Layer 1: The Chips
Get triangular tortilla chips that can stand up to the weight of loaded toppings.
Layer 2: The Meat
Grab some pre-prepared chicken, steak or pork from the grocery store. You can also grill up a piece of meat, and chop it into small pieces.
If you’re vegetarian, replace this layer with black beans.
Layer 3: The Cheese
Go for a mix of mozzarella and cheddar. It melts into perfect nacho cheese texture. If you can’t do this combo, stick with your standard shredded cheese. Throw the plate in the microwave for about 1 minute or until the cheese is melted.

Layer 4: The Vegetables
Whether it’s chopped tomatoes, sweet peppers, avocado, etc. (or all of them) add what you like.
You can even get creative by making your own salsa to make the dish really shine.
Bonus Layer: Cilantro
Totally optional. If you’re feeling fancy, top it with fresh chopped cilantro, but no one’s judging.
Enjoy!
